Video on using End Cap Feature, Fit to Length Button & Centerpoint on the Cricut

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

I wanted to do a video on explaining how to use the end cap feature on the Plantin’ Schoolbook cartridge. End caps are the hearts on either end in the photo above. However, I wanted to use a more girly font, like Storybook, so I set out to figure out how to do that. I found out how, through some trial and error and this video will show you how to do this also! Confused? Watch the video! Also, you can download my directions by clicking on the picture of them below:

You have got to get to the garage sale I told you about….

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Just got back from the garage sale! Above are some photos of the things I got there for $80! Much of it is cardstock weight paper from My Minds Eye, the Crate Paper Christmas collections, and the Bohemia papers. Also, I got some paper from Scrapworks and some Daisy D’s monkey papers, which must have been their last release before shutting down. I was able to get some Xyron refills, My Minds Eye Christmas card packages and some gorgeous gold and silver shaped eyelets in the forms of ladybugs (for my friend Tammy!), butterflies (in silver and gold) and some shells and sea creatures! Really gorgeous stuff. I probably scored over 500 sheets of cardstock weight papers alone. Some of the packages also included coordinating die cut sheets! The seller is a manufacturer’s rep for Bazzill, Scrapworks, (formerly) Lil Davis, (formerly) Daisy D’s, Xyron, etc. and sells products to not only the small LSSs but also the big stores like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. There was lots of Bazzill left so head over and check it out! They had tons of those Bay Box scrapworks albums in small and large, loads of paper (yes, I even left some…), Karen Foster stickers and embellishments, Lil Davis chipboard letters and embellies, new Xyron machines and refills (yes, I even left some of that…ha ha!), all kinds of albums, die cuts, envelopes, cards, purple cow trimmers, etc. etc. Details again are: Check out this sale! Sales Rep in Plano Texas is having a sample sale this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. All sorts of scrapbooking supplies from paper, to adhesive machines, to scissors, to wrapping paper, Christmas cards, etc., etc. Address is: 8208 Chambray Court Plano, Texas, 75025 If you live in the Dallas area, we hope to see you there! HURRY, HURRY! It’s awesome!

Back!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Hello! We arrived home yesterday morning and already last night I was working on a page. And you won’t believe this, but I did a page with a picture from our trip! So that means I have another album in the works! Quent laughed and was teasing me about how this picture was from a place we went to and I wasn’t really enjoying myself, but I chose to scrapbook it first! Ha! It was raining at the time and I wasn’t excited about getting wet. But the awesome thing about this trail (besides my attitude being adjusted–yeah!) was that there were these beautiful cactus roses. I snapped a lot of pictures of them. I was blog-hopping last night and I saw what Rhonna had created and right away my creative juices were churning, so I started this page. It’s good to be home! We really enjoyed our trip! We saw SOOO many things in the two weeks we were there. Last night I was looking through the June Creating Keepsakes magazine for the first time and all of these ideas were coming to me. I sketched out a page idea I have for the introduction page for our trip. I’m excited! I really want to enjoy this process, this journey, this passion, this hobby of scrapbooking. I don’t want to be in a rush about it. In my eyes, I have 4 scrapbook projects I am working on right now. I want to enjoy the journey and not think I have to get things done in whatever order (although it would be nice to get last year’s vacation completely scrapped). Also, Ro from Scrap Girls has been posting some pretty cool stuff on her muse blog. Check it out! This is a digital page using elements from Jen wilson, Little Dreamer, and Designer Digitals. If you have any questions about what I used, please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll get back with you. I’m not always good at listing what I used, but I can always look things up if you would like!

Five (x5) for Friday: Say Hello to Hello Lucky!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

The National Stationery Show was last week and it was the first time in a few years that I didn’t attend. A trendwatching mecca, it has been The Source for validating trends I have already been watching and giving me a glimpse at what’s to come. The economy being what it is and all, we decided to skip that event this year. But no worries, I’ve got my eye on the companies that inspire me most and am cruising the Internet like never before. But I couldn’t keep myself from checking in with my all-time favorite inspirational company at the show, Hello Lucky . I’m not sure what it is about this company, but their designs always make me smile. I love their letterpress texture, their color combinations, and their stylish and punny approach to greeting cards. They are on the cutting edge of trends, and I often turn to their designs for inspiration for whatever it is that I’m working on at the moment. Take a looky-loo at what I’m chatty Cath-ing about: Dachshund Fashionista Cha Cha Cottage Garden Hang in There Silverware Stag Too Long Lookin’ Good Snail Lost Without You Scottie Fashionista He Popped the Question Ironwork Going Places Birdcages To the Bride Retro Garden Chandeliers Catching Up Chrysanthemum You’re Dreamy Cherries Chairs Frames Octo Sailors Are you grinning from ear-to-ear the way I am?
