Cricut Stand and Salute Card using fireworks!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Here’s a quick card I whipped up tonight…ha ha! Don’t I make it sound easy? Let me tell you, there’s glitter everywhere on my scrapbook desk. I love the Martha Stewart glitter but I can sure spread it around some! I used white glitter paper (which doesn’t show up in the photo but it’s there!) for the fireworks themselves and then shadowed it with red paper, which I then covered with red glitter using a Zig 2-way glue pen and then quickly sprinkling glitter over it and all other available surfaces. Finally, using heavy duty glue dots and pop dots, I managed to stick the two layers of fireworks together and then onto yet another glittery paper, this one black, like the sky looks. I then added red and blue papers behind it, and mounted the whole thing on a white card. The word “Liberty” is also on this cart. I love the “L” shape in “Liberty” - it reminds me of Laverne’s sweaters on Laverne & Shirley. I am having so much fun with this cartridge! Stay tuned for a video and more projects today and all week! Ok, now its 2:15 am and I really am going to bed…really, I am….

Cricut Stand & Salute Previews HERE!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I was so lucky to be chosen by ProvoCraft to preview some of their new cartridges that haven’t been released yet! Today in the mail, I received Stand & Salute, Simply Sweet, Jubilee and Home Decor!! Over the next week, I will be featuring projects, cards, a mini-album and even some videos featuring these cartridges! So, you need to check back to see all the goodies on these cartridges and the different ways they will be showcased! Above, my friend Tammy (from the CreativeCritters Blog) and I just opened the box and tore into all the goodies from Provocraft! She and I will be creating some fabulous things with these cartridges so stay tuned! This cartridge has some great creative features like border, dog tags (makes the cutest tags), note cards, and frames! What’s also wonderful is that with a lot of the word art, there is a shadow key and shadow blackout key, which adds even more versatility to your cuts! I can’t wait to showcase some of the projects I am now hard at work on! And now, here are a few of the fabulous images found on Stand & Salute!

Hot off the Cricut rumor mill…more cartridge news…

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

A retailer on the Cricut board has said she has been notified that ProvoCraft will be offering up the Home Decor solutions cart and the Jubilee cart separately, beginning July 1. These were the cartridges offered in the recent promo (see THIS POST for details of that promo). In addition, two other cartridges were mentioned: one being Stand and Salute (a military themed cartridge) and Simply Sweet (a font cartridge). The dates are not consistent for these releases - one source says June 7 and the other July 1. Interestingly enough, the promo deal was supposed to be exclusive but now appears that these items will be for sale separately. For once (and I mean, ONCE) I did not get the promo, so at least I still have a chance to get the Home Decor cartridge later. No sneak peek photos yet and after the whole controversy surrounding the missing word art on Life’s A Beach, we may not see any at all before the release. Odd, though, since at most the release is 6 weeks away, and you’d figure the artwork was nailed down by now. Exciting things happening….
